We aim to reform housing systems through first-of-its-kind research, new program development, and policy advocacy so households with animals are not excluded, destabilized, or displaced.

 

Our work is​ in furtherance of one goal: to demonstrate the feasibility and necessity of ending the legal discrimination against tenants with pets.

Research

Design and deliver original, peer-reviewed research analyzing how housing policies, rental markets, and affordability impact pet owners, animal shelters, and communities—translated into clear findings decision-makers can act on.

Program Design & Evaluation

Develop and evaluate evidence-based programs—such as pet deposit assistance, and cross-sector partnerships—that prevent housing-related relinquishment and reduce animal shelter system costs.

Policy Advocacy & Strategy

Pets are family. Our housing policies should reflect that.

 

We provide end-to-end policy support, including legal research, legislative drafting, coalition-building, testimony, and policymaker briefings, to advance equitable, pet-inclusive housing laws grounded in data and lived experience.

Our Partner Organizations

We partner with advocates, service providers, researchers, and policymakers to design and evaluate programs for real families.
